Front Desk Demo status

Positioning

Not RMM. Not MDM. Not VPN. The missing front desk.

Front Desk should not chase every feature in every adjacent category. The sharper wedge is customer-visible remote operations for devices installed on networks you do not control.

Category map

Use the adjacent markets. Do not become them.

The competitor field is crowded. Front Desk can borrow expectations from each category, but the product should stay centered on customer devices, employee work, approval, audit, and outbound-only access.

How to explain it

The useful answer depends on what they compare us to.

If they ask about That product usually means Front Desk answer
Remote desktop Start a screen, terminal, or unattended support session Front Desk adds customer approval, account history, device status, installers, and employee housekeeping.
RMM MSP endpoint monitoring, patching, scripts, and large admin consoles Front Desk is smaller and more customer-visible, built around field-device support and requests.
MDM Corporate endpoint inventory, policy, patching, and compliance Front Desk focuses on customer-owned or customer-prem devices that need support, not corporate laptop policy.
IoT platform Telemetry, rules, dashboards, protocols, maps, and asset models Front Desk can complement telemetry, but the first job is remote operations and support execution.
PAM or vault Credential vaulting, rotation, privileged access, and compliance audit Front Desk needs role gating and audit, but should integrate with vaults instead of becoming one early.
SASE or ZTNA Secure network access, VPN replacement, and managed access policy Front Desk is the operational system after access is needed: device, request, approval, session, record.
Secure BYOD workspace Protected app enclaves and data controls for user-owned computers Front Desk is about reaching and maintaining field devices, not securing personal workstations.

Trust baseline

Say enough about security, without overclaiming.

The marketing site should make buyers comfortable with the basics: outbound-only access, Entra sign-in direction, tenant isolation, scoped sessions, approval history, and audit. It should not claim to replace a full PAM vault, SIEM, RMM, MDM, or SASE stack.

Compete by being clearer.

A simple front desk for customer-owned devices is easier to understand than another giant acronym platform.
